Kid's Art
Hello - I am the Art Docent for a number of children's classes at Lakeview Elementary and Ben Franklin Elementary. I am honored to be a part of your child's education and welcome your ideas and comments!
I have put together an art curriculum to teach your child how to draw and hopefully to appreciate the importance of art no matter what field they choose to go into later in life. All subjects (art, science, math, history, writing composition, etc.) are related and when student's see how each can be incorporated into their own area of interest their enthusiasm and learning capabilities are enhanced. Therefore, throughout my classes I aim to infuse science, history, math etc. into our discussions.
I hope your child enjoys the art lessons and shares them with you. Please encourage them to have a notebook or sketchbook at hand to practice drawing! They can show you some of the techniques they learned in class (a great way for them to hone their skills) and try drawing other objects that they see and imagine.
I have summarized each of the art lessons in the links above according to your child's class. Each week I will post the new lesson, along with photos of their art work (with your written permission). I hope your whole family enjoys seeing your child's 'published' art work!
If you have any questions, comments etc. please feel free to drop me a line! Beverly Gilbert jewelry@gilbertdesigns.net
