Color surrounds us, influences us and evokes emotions – when we are surrounded by colors we love, we feel energized, creative, peaceful and happy. In this 3 hour crash course on color, you will explore color with a variety of mediums and learn to observe nuances of color, why variations in value and saturation add depth and intrigue and analyze why some color combinations are exciting while others seem flat. You will come away with new color combinations to try in your projects and feel confident enhancing the combinations you already know and love. Whether you are comfortable with your own sense of color or a little intimidated, you will learn techniques that you can apply in your creative projects and in your home and will come away with tools that will help you develop and enhance your own... Dive Into Color…Immerse yourself in a full day of in-depth color study and come away with creative ideas and colorful inspirations – and your own collection of color palettes and bead soups that you can use in future projects. In class you will: build your color confidence through fun and engaging exercises in color mixing, proportion and collage; observe and discuss color harmonies and nuances of color in nature, art, and in your own creations; learn the importance of saturation, depth and value and practice using the color wheel as a tool you’ll use time and again to enhance any palette. You will develop an ability to analyze and understand why some color combinations are exciting to you and why others are not – and what you can do to add a splash of excitement. So, whether you are sailing along with a strong sense of color or just now getting your feet wet – ‘Dive Into Color’ will give you hands-on techniques that you can apply in your beadwork, art, and home decorating projects.
Working with color is exhilarating! What better way to play with color than in making bead soups? Just as a painter mixes different pigments on her palette, you will learn how to make bead sopus that contain depth and movement. We will focus on single palettes of color then explore ways to wash them together. you will apply what you learn by designing and making a color wash piece that glows!
Whether you are comfortable with your own sense of color or a little intimidated, you will come away with techniques that you can apply in your own beadwork and in your home.
